Embedded Design Services at Integra
From Concept to Productization

Early Years

Integra has been involved in embedded system development in a variety of areas. The work carried out ranges from synchronization modules on handheld devices to small EPABX systems and real-time operating system kernels. Integra also developed a PLC simulator and user interface components for a customer in Japan.

Other products developed by Integra include firmware for an advanced cordless phone, hardware, firmware, and software for a telephone line sharing system, EPABX, electronic cash register, general-purpose adapter, and BIOS for a home automation control panel.

Apart from projects for customers, Integra also carried out the development of its own products, like a standalone terminal emulator based on the PC Model, add-on cards for floppy disk emulation, and solutions for virus protection and remote booting of the OS.

What We Do Now
    • Currently involved in the development, configuration management, and testing of the following applications and features on a GSM handset:
    • Answering Machine
    • Date Book (with synchronization)
    • Delayed Answer
    • Games (with call interruptions)
Current active developments include communication and synchronization software for PDAs and servers, maintenance and enhancement of a sales simulation and planning tool, and an addressing application for an industrial level inkjet printer.
The software is developed on Solaris in C++ with cross-compiler tools for generating the target code. The test suites are automated to generate key sequences and are run using a Java-based application.
